BELLEFONTAINE- Ohio Hi-Point’s Business Professionals of America (BPA) students found out who will be advancing to state competition after the Regional Awards Ceremony took place on January 31 at Upper Scioto Valley High School.
BELLEFONTAINE- Students and staff at Ohio Hi-Point Career Center will join others across the nation during the month of February to celebrate Career and Technical Education (CTE) month.
BELLEFONTAINE- Auto Collision II senior Scott Eversole is putting his knowledge and tools to work for the community while attending Ohio Hi-Point Career Center. Eversole, a high school senior from Benjamin Logan, is part of team of students working on a complete vehicle repair and paint job for a truck used by the Transportation Research Center in East Liberty, Ohio.
Last evening, Julia Kim was declared the winner of the Fairborn District Spelling Bee. The bee was held at Fairborn Intermediate School, with contestants from Fairborn Intermediate, Baker Middle School, and Bethlehem Lutheran School.
Antioch University Midwest (AUM) presents the Pay It Forward Request for Proposal for award amounts up to $1,000. Only those organizations in Greene, Clark, and Montgomery counties providing services related to health, hunger, and homelessness may apply. The applicant organization must have a 501(c) 3 and an annual budget less than or equal to $500,000.
The Global Education and Peace Network invites you to come hear Akber Mohammed, MD speak on "Life Cycle Observances from Abraham to Mohammed: Head Coverings and Circumcision” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, February 9, in Room 105 of the Shouvlin Center at Wittenberg University.
Dayton, OH – Kelsey Woodward, Senior at Northmont High School, believes Ms. Janelle Hayes is one special teacher. Like students in schools all over the Miami Valley, Kelsey knows her teacher has made a real difference in her life and thinks it’s about time great teachers like Ms. Hayes got some much deserved recognition. Kelsey wants to do something about that and has nominated her Spanish teacher for the Heroic Teacher of the Year award.
On January 10, 2012, Snowhill School students were able to view and sit in an authentic 1968 M725 Vietnam ambulance, as well as an M715 "5/quarter" truck. These students are members of Mr. Larry Marple's History Club, a club which has been in existence since the fall of 2008. Mr. Marple stated that he wanted students to learn more about history, especially American history, and he wanted to show them that "learning history can be enjoyable and exciting."
