Dayton, Ohio – Dayton History is proud to announce a celebration of Paul Laurence Dunbar throughout February’s Black History Month.
Dayton History and Woodland Cemetery will be partnering for the annual Paul Laurence Dunbar Graveside Tribute and Reception, which commemorates the anniversary of Dunbar’s death. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place on February 9th at 10:00 a.m. Attendees should gather at the cemetery’s Mausoleum.
In addition, at the Paul Laurence Dunbar State Memorial will be open for tours on a drop-in basis Friday and Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, from noon until 4:00 p.m. Special appointments for educational classes and large groups are available by calling 937-313-2010.
Although admission fees of $6.00 per adult and $3.00 per child are in place, Dayton History, Ohio Historical Society members, and National Park Service pass holders will be admitted free of charge.
