DAYTON, OHIO – The Dayton Mended Hearts Chapter announced today that its next regularly scheduled chapter meeting will feature Dr. Tanisha Richmond. A podiatrist, she will discuss “Happy Feet = Happy Heart.” The meeting is set for Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at 6:45 pm in the Schuster Conference Center, at Kettering Medical Center, 3535 Southern Blvd., Kettering, Ohio. The meeting is opened to all heart patients, their caregivers, and anyone wanting to hear about the latest techniques in treating heart disease. Mended Hearts is a national nonprofit support organization that includes heart patients, spouses, healthcare professionals and others interested in helping patients with the emotional recovery from heart disease. The local Mended Hearts Chapter #61 has been serving the Dayton area since 1970. With 263 community-based chapters nationwide, Mended Hearts has 24,000 members making it the nation's largest heart-related patient support group. It is nationally aligned with the American College of Cardiology. The local organizations of Mended Hearts, Mended LITTLE Hearts and the local American Heart Association have joined together to support each other in their efforts to educate the public about heart disease, congenital heart defects and how they affect our lives.
