Sometimes I know it can be very hard when someone does you wrong to forgive them. I remember one time when someone did something wrong to me and my family and my church family and I was so angry. I could not believe that this person could cause so much destruction. I held the anger and bitterness inside till it began to eat at me and affect my health. It was only when I knew I had to forgive this person that the burden was lifted.
Forgiveness is a powerful thing for you, it sets you free. If you are hanging on to unforgiveness it will only make you a miserable person. Start focusing on God’s forgiveness for you and remember His mercy and compassion. Ask God to help you with you anger and bitterness towards the ones who have wronged you. Sometimes we may not forget what has been done but it is powerful when you start praying for your enemy’s and forgive them.
We serve a forgiving God and who are we to hold on to such anger and bitterness that is only going to destroy us in the end. Start this year off feeling free and let the Holy Spirit guide you in walk this year. Let your compassion stretch you this year and show the love of God like never before. Let forgiveness rein in you life.
